#AceWorldNews – Nov.21: The U.S. health body has announced it will no longer support biomedical research on chimpanzees.
In an open letter on the National Institutes of Health website, the head of the organisation said that ‘invasive research on chimpanzees no longer makes sense’ and the animals it currently holds will be relocated to a sanctuary in Louisiana, Chimp Haven.
‘It is clear that we’ve reached a tipping point,’ Francis S. Collins, director of the NIH, wrote on the website.
