Employees at Etobicoke General Hospital had to trade their scrubs for squeegees overnight.
A watermain break at the institution flooded the hospital’s ER. That forced a temporary closure.
Emergency crews were called in just before midnight. By that time, much of the ER was under water.
Firefighters were quick to help hospital staff mop up the substantial amounts of water.
There’s no word on what caused the watermain break. No one was injured and the hospital did not need to be evacuated.
