#AceWorldNews – PAKISTAN:April.11: At least 20 people were killed and three others were injured after unidentified gunmen opened fire on a workers’ camp in south-western city of Turbat in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, local media reported.
The killings took place in a remote area in the Turbat district of Baluchistan Province, where a separatist movement has operated for decades. Baluchistan is the country’s largest province by area — about 44 percent of Pakistan’s total area — and is rich with mineral resources and natural gas deposits.
“The laborers were working on a bridge that links Turbat to a national highway,” Imran Qureshi, the top police official in Turbat, said by phone.
The attack took place around 1:30 a.m. local time. The construction workers were part of a team building a bridge at the Sohrab Dam. The gunmen reportedly arrived to the camp on motorcycles.
Police are on the scene investigating and local checkpoints have been alerted.
